Ruth was born in Pinebluff, Arkansas, the youngest of seven. Her father was a minister and
their family moved throughout the south as he took the pastorate and started new churches.
Ruth's father was sixty-four years old when she was born so she was the apple of his eye and
always encouraged that anything she wanted to do was possible.
Ruth marched for civil rights, freedom from hunger and has always had a strong sense that
everyone should receive an equal opportunity to pursue their dreams. She attended
college at seventeen, graduated and married young, beginning her love of reading, writing
and art at an early age. Ruth has been a writer and storyteller all of her life. Before she
began writing, she would sit with her friends or lie on the beach and create stories to
entertain them.
Her son, Gary, was born in Michigan and has been one of the proudest moments of her life
second only to the birth of her grandsons, Cameron and Chance.
She has written several manuscripts and hopes to have them published in the near future.
She is constantly observing every aspect of life, because everything and everyone has a
potential story waiting to be told. Ruth has worked in the private sector in either federal,
state or local government all her life.
